Indiana State Wages & Withholding

Indiana – State Minimum Wages

State Hourly Minimum Wage – In 2023, the hourly minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, which is equal to the current Federal minimum wage.

State Hourly Minimum Wage for Tipped Employees – In 2023, the hourly minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13 per hour. (The employer must make up the difference if the tips paid to the employees plus wages do not meet or exceed the state hourly minimum wage.)

State Hourly Training Minimum Wage – In 2023, the minimum wage for employees in training is $4.25 per hour. (This can only be used for employees under the age of 20 and only for the first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment.)

Indiana – Current State Withholding Tax Rate

In 2023, the state withholding tax rate is 3.23%. (The county tax rate will depend on where the employee resided or worked as of January 1 of the current calendar year.)
